The Art in Motion Program aims to train well-rounded artists by encouraging creativity, building confidence, and mastering the foundational skills that are crucial for any aspiring artist. Together, we’ll explore various mediums, styles, and techniques, ensuring each student discovers their unique artistic voice.

(GRADE 6 & 7)
Students will learn the foundations of form, movement and perspective on a creative level. First mastering gesture and basic movement through sketch mediums they will then apply their knowledge through a series of challenges and projects. By second semester their goal will be to complete one final project using the skills learned from Sept- December. Mixed mediums including cardboard building, sketching, paint and clays.

Required Supplies
(GRADE 8-10)
Starting out with the understanding of practice and discipline/ how to keep a creative log (sketchbook, digital folder or portfolio), students will then apply their skills towards final projects. Some subjects covered throughout the year will include scale, perspective, colour theory and how to finalize a piece. They will be expected to show at home practice and present new ideas they are working on every other week. Mediums used will be digital tools, sketch tools (charcoal, pens, pencils) and paints. This class is applicable to go on the MTL trip.
