Are you between 15–30 years old, out of school, and looking for work experience that helps you build confidence, skills, and a stronger resume?
The Heart of Riverdale is offering paid, mentored work placements through the Youth Employment and Skills Strategy (YESS) for youth who want to learn by doing — especially those who haven’t had much job experience or are unsure where to start.
This program is ideal for youth who feel they need more skills or support before entering the job market. No experience is necessary — just a willingness to learn and show up.
Available Roles Include:
- Applied Arts: Costume construction, set and prop building, technical theatre
- Kitchen Work: Food prep and café support
- Building Care: Custodial and basic maintenance
- Childcare Support: Helping with children’s programming and arts-based camps
What You’ll Get:
- 300 hours of paid employment experience (approx. 30–35 hours/week)
- One-on-one mentorship and day-to-day guidance
- A supportive, encouraging environment to learn and grow
- Resume support and references to help you take your next step
Eligibility:
- Ages 15–30
- Not currently in school
- Must be available to work 30+ hours/week
- Priority given to youth who are new to the workforce or facing barriers to employment
