We met with all three party leaders to talk about The Heart of Riverdale, our programs, our youth employment work, and the hundreds of letters of support from our community. Platform Highlights:
• Maintain the universal child care program and complete regulations with operators for sustainability
• Expand apprenticeship and alternative learning models
• Create a Skills Development Fund with First Nations labour and employers
• Explore expanding the Student Training and Employment Program STEP to include secondary students in the skilled trades
• Develop hands on programs to connect students with local industries and foster pride in practical skills and entrepreneurship
• Ensure Yukon University meets labour market needs in child care technology and trades
• Maintain Film and Sound industry supports
• Support Yukons digital industry
Platform Highlights:
• Multi year operational funding for arts and cultural organizations
• Support touring festivals and production infrastructure for performing arts
• Expand community based youth employment with a focus on arts environment and trades
• Increase access to after school and community arts education programs
• Integrate arts and culture into school curricula
• Invest in community arts and culture infrastructure through local partnerships
• Support public art and community based projects across the territory
Platform Highlights:
• Continue investing in early childhood education and increase subsidies to help families with rising costs
• Increase funding for Early Learning and Child Care to maintain quality and keep child care at ten dollars per day
• Review post secondary support programs including a forgivable loan model for students who return home after their studies
• Continue the paid sick leave program to support employees who need time off
• Increase the Children’s Fitness and Arts Tax Credits by fifty percent
• Increase the Kids Recreation Fund
• Increase access to visual arts dance and theatre for children youth adults and seniors
• Create a not for profit support policy for stable predictable operational funding for some non profits
