We met with all three party leaders to talk about The Heart of Riverdale, our programs, our youth employment work, and the hundreds of letters of support from our community. Each party shared a letter and has included commitments in their platforms related to youth the arts and community programs. We want to congratulate the Yukon Party on successfully winning majority. Follow the link below to see what Currie had to say about us just before the election.
Platform Highlights:
• Maintain the universal child care program and complete regulations with operators for sustainability
• Expand apprenticeship and alternative learning models
• Create a Skills Development Fund with First Nations labour and employers
• Explore expanding the Student Training and Employment Program STEP to include secondary students in the skilled trades
• Develop hands on programs to connect students with local industries and foster pride in practical skills and entrepreneurship
• Ensure Yukon University meets labour market needs in child care technology and trades
• Maintain Film and Sound industry supports
• Support Yukons digital industry
We are grateful to everyone who sent in a letter and are grateful to all three parties who promised to help us out. Strong communities grow when we invest in creativity, learning, and youth.
