Ballet helps improve strength, posture, flexibility and balance. Students will build their classical ballet vocabulary and work to coordinate “port de bras” (movement of the arms and head) with movements of the legs and feet.
Classes typically begin at the barre where students work on the foundations of ballet technique. The barre is followed by centre work where participants work on turns and traveling sequences to develop grace and musicality.

Required Supplies
What to wear and bring to ballet class:
- Leotard (bodysuit) & pink/skin tone or black tights, or other fitted clothing (leggings and a tank top)
- Ballet slippers with elastic(s) sewn on
- For pre-pointe only: pre-pointe or pointe shoes with elastics and ribbons sewn on (we can assist you with sourcing these)
- Hair up and away from face
- Warm-up attire (leg warmers, ballet sweaters, etc)
- Water bottle
