Tuesdays: The focus is on movement and group choreography for the spring musical. The teacher, Ms. Michelle, will teach a foundation of musical theatre movement used in large group choreography to help enhance the storytelling in our musical. We will also learn to move while singing.
Thursdays: The focus in this class is on singing and acting. We will learn to find our voices both through music (warm-ups, technique and group singing) and theatre. (Scene work, staging and proper vocal projection for the stage) In this class, we will also be working on the songs and dialogue for the spring musical. We will have the opportunity to showcase an excerpt from our chosen musical in the Sunday Showcase following Polar Night.
Commitment: It is very important to attend all rehearsals leading up to the performances. We will have a technical/dress rehearsal before our showcase following Polar Night. There will be additional rehearsals in March and April that will take place at the Heart of Riverdale to tie the show together.
Before the Spring musical we will have 1-3 technical rehearsals, a dress rehearsal and 2 performance shows. We also may possibly have up to 2 afternoon school shows.
“Polar Night” dates are: Jan 13-26th (this includes all tech, dress and shows)
Showcase: January 25th, 2026
