For 18 months to kindergarten
Our Toddler and Preschool Dance program offers a nurturing and engaging introduction to movement and dance for children aged 18 months to kindergarten. Through a variety of age-appropriate classes, young dancers explore the joy of movement while developing essential skills like coordination, musicality, and self-expression.
For our youngest participants, parent-participation classes provide a special bonding experience as parents and children share 45 minutes of movement, music, and creative play with props and instruments. As children grow, they can progress to Adventures in Movement, which introduces the basics of dance in a fun, non-recital setting, preparing them for more structured classes.
Our Pre-Dance classes provide a strong foundation in ballet and other dance styles, emphasizing transferable skills such as rhythm, balance, and learning choreography. These classes are inspired by respected teaching methods and tailored to align with early childhood education principles. For those in Pre-Dance, performances at our year-end recital, Art from The Heart, give young dancers a chance to shine on stage.
From simple movements to foundational techniques, our Toddler and Preschool Dance program is designed to spark a lifelong love of dance while fostering confidence and creativity.
For ages 3 and 4
These classes offer children a fun and fulfilling way to prepare for dance technique classes such as ballet, jazz, and contemporary. It is also a great place to start for the potential breakdancer or all-around athlete! All preschool classes can help prepare children for an active lifestyle. This class does not perform in the year-end recital.

Pre-Dance is a progressive preparatory program for our ballet, jazz, contemporary, and hip hop programs. Our Pre-Dance program is rooted in ballet technique but focuses on skills that are transferrable across all genres including coordination, musicality, and learning choreography.
Dancers explore movement accompanied by many styles of music – classical, world, rock, and popular children’s songs. The instructor’s focus is to make the class fun, challenging, and rewarding.
The curriculum for this class is based on the principals of early childhood and primary education, the Royal Academy of Dance ballet syllabus, and Creative Dance Technique developed by Dr. Anne Green Gilbert and Mary Joyce.
Pre-Dance classes perform in Art from The Heart, our year-end recital at the Yukon Arts Centre.
