After School Crews is a creative program with after-school care for kids in Kindergarten – Grade 6. The After School Crews run Monday to Friday and offer incredible classes in dance, acro, and visual art, along with after-school care until 6:30 pm.
The “After School Care” part of the program has optional walking school bus service from Riverdale elementary schools, a van pick-up from EWES (limited space), outdoor play, a healthy snack, help with homework, playtime, and activity centres.
ARTS-BASED PROGRAM FOR CHILDREN KINDERGARTEN – GRADE 6
The After School Crews run Monday to Friday and offer incredible classes in dance, music, acro, and visual art, along with after-school care until 6:30 pm.

Choose from two main streams:
- Beat Street (breaking, hip hop, and house)
- Classical Squad (ballet, contemporary, and jazz)
Both streams include visual art and acrobatic classes, and after-school care.
Please note: All students will be expected to attend rehearsals for performances at the Yukon Arts Centre in January and May. Level 1A and 1B participate only in May.
WHAT SETS US APART?
The After School Crew Programs also offer more performance/exhibition opportunities throughout the year, including Polar Night at the Yukon Arts Centre in January and Art from The Heart at the Yukon Arts Centre in May. These crew programs are different from regular classes because students have a more intense schedule of weekly classes and show a higher level of commitment. Being part of the After School Crew programs allows students to progress faster since they get a full year of technical training in dance, acro, and visual art, leading to improved skills and performance. These programs also offer more chances to perform or showcase talents throughout the year, like Polar Night at the Yukon Arts Centre in January and Art from The Heart at the Yukon Arts Centre in May.
REGISTRATION AND PRICING
The Full Time After School Arts Program is a total of $4,600 for the year.
If you choose to pay in monthly instalments:
- You’ll pay 1 instalment at checkout
- Followed by 10 monthly payments of $418.18 from September to June

** Please note that all full time students will be expected to attend rehearsals for performances at the Yukon Arts Centre in January and May. At The Heart, we’re dedicated to providing excellent Arts Programming, and we ask our students to be equally committed. Regular class attendance is essential for students, along with their classmates, to fully benefit from the program.

The Part-Time After School Arts Program is a creative program with after-school care for kids in Kindergarten – Grade 6. This program varies based on your registration. Operating from Monday to Friday and offers incredible classes in dance and visual art, along with after-school care until 6:30 pm.
